Well hey!

Step 1: Dream about traveling for as long as you can remember.
Step 2: Establish foreign contacts, like an awesome Danish guy or three.
Step 3: Penny pinch, then buy a plane ticket to Denmark.
Step 4: Go.

Howdy folks! Welcome to my house. Yes, this blog is my house. I'm Kate, a short, curious, almost-graduated college student with a resilient, life long travel itch that I finally get to scratch. After begging my parents to let me backpack through Central America for three years to no avail, I finally sold them on the idea of a post-grad adventure to Europe. I have been saving paychecks, birthday checks, high school graduation cash, and selling my things on ebay for what seems like ages to fund this venture and now that I've purchased the ticket, all I've got is a count down. May 29th, 2014 can't come soon enough!

This blog came about because I feel that in my quest to learn all I can about tiny college-aged female solo travel, I haven't found what I was looking for. Lots of packing lists and cautions from people who aren't travel-sized young women, but no actual experiences. I've got quite a while before I depart, so I'll also be using this as a pre-departure organization and planning tool for myself. Deciding to travel solo allows for lots of freedom accompanied by TONS of decisions to make. Hopefully the end result will be a fabulous collection of memories for me, and possibly a helpful jumping off point for anybody else in my shoes.

So now that the boring intro post is taken care of, let's get going! Auf gehts!
